These were fine at first but, over time, they started to leave a plasticy flavor in the drinks

It’s exactly what you expect. I use them every day in my lunchbox & can say it does the job & does it well. I will say 40 wasn’t enough but I do have a bigger lunchbox so I bought 2 sets & now I don’t need to worry about warm food. I dont use them in a cup although it does work I feel these are great for coolers.

These are great. They freeze quick and stay cold for a while. I do use them in an insulated travel drinker but still- all day they are cold. Love them.

I use these to chill my wine and they work great. This style works better than the fun shape plastic cubes, which I also have, because these have a thinner shell. You should stir the cubes to get the drink cold (from reading other reviews, I don’t think some people realize this) but I’ve had my wine get to the freezing cold point and had to dilute it with more room temp wine (oh poor me haha). When I use the fruit shaped cubes I have to use many more to get the same level of chilled. I use 4 of the cute ones vs. 2 of the square ones. The times the square cubes get my wine to freezing cold is when the bottle of wine is really warm and I’m impatient so I decide to throw 3 or 4 cubes in to get it chilled faster, but I let them sit in the glass and the next thing you know, it’s frosty cold. So maybe soda drinkers would use 4-6 cubes. They really do the trick. I don’t know if you’re supposed to, but I throw mine in the dishwasher to get them clean.
