I have an swollen injured knee so I have to ice it from time to time. This oversize is big enough to wrap around the area and the thick gel can hold the coolness long enough (up to an hour). Because its thick gel, it’s easy to shape thus providing carpet-like close to skin coverage (better than those with bead-shape gels).
However, its vinyl has very strong plastic smell! Lack of a Velcro belt to hold it in place is another disadvantage when putting it onto shoulder as its heavy weight would slip off easily.

I love this ice pak because of its versatility and I love the weight of it on my problem area (shoulder/neck). I am most disappointed though that is has “leaked” after only a few months of gentle use. At the seam. I will buy again but hopefully the next one won’t leak.

The pack liner is made of plastic that becomes somewhat rigid being placed in the freezer and it makes it hard for it to comfortably conform to the contours of the location you’re trying to place it on.
It has a nice weight to it and by all means has been very durable and can maintain temperature for quite a while. I would have given 5 stars but the comfort it provides isn’t the best as from what I’ve experienced from other products.

My chiropractor recommended this when I asked him about a good ice pack. The last couple we have had broke. This one is solid and it should last for years. The material is rubbery and not like the plastic bag once we’ve had before. It is very large and I have used folded in half and full on my lower back for acute pain. This is a brand I am impressed with and will buy different sizes when needed.

This is my second Chattanooga ColPac. The first still works; we just needed a second. I’ve had the first one for a couple of years and it is still in new condition. This seems to be the same material and I expect it to last as well. Recently I had to ice two different areas of my body. The ColPac worked well for the first area (18 minutes) and was still cold enough for me to use it for the second area (another 18 minutes).

Bought 2 so one could be reducing post surgery edema after bunionectomy. The second is in the freezer ready to be rotated into use. Seal good on the pack but try not to stress it as my larger pack split open from too much pressure. Gel content flexible after seconds to shape around desired area.

These are the best, but eventually they dry out and become hard inside. Just be aware.
I can’t say how long, but I bought my first in 2015, then several more in 2017.
I didn’t need then in 2018 so threw them on a shelf in the closet.
Took out recently to use and noticed they were all wet. Whatever is inside had seeped out. The gel inside was hard. I put them in the freezer to see if this would change. They froze but are no longer soft and the oozing of whatever is inside continues. According to the company website they have a 1 year warranty. I tossed them and bough new ones. I definitely got my money’s worth out of them.
