I’ve used several of these ice makers over the years. Every time just figuring I couldn’t get bar quality spheres/cubes. First time out of the gate with this thing and bam…absolutely perfect ice.
Filtered water…that was my only thing I knew going into this. Could not be happier with this. Ziplock to store them as I make them. Takes a little longer to make these epic spheres, good things come to those who wait!

Tried a few other methods of getting clear oceans all we a major fail. These use directional freezing. Tots the only way to go. Perfectly clear ice every time!

This ice mare into Old Fashion’s. Makes clear spheres in about a day. The only problem I have had is the insert is a little hard to remove, will use over and over.

I use it with filtered water, and it works very well—produces perfectly transparent ice spheres. It does take about 48 hours in my chest freezer, so I just have to plan in advance. I then take them out and roll each one up in plastic wrap. I then store them in a Tupperware bowl in my freezer to stay fresh a bit longer.
