While the machine is larger than our previous ice maker, it makes ice quicker, bigger, and it stays colder longer. The ONLY downfall is it is a bit noisier but not unbearable.
It was initially my second choice (was going to go with a Frigidaire model), but that machine came damaged. Upon review, the water reservoir was a very awkward shape and would have been difficult to clean. Iām glad we returned it!
Weāve been using for about 3 weeks and havenāt used the cleaning cycle so I canāt speak to it. We use bottled RO water in it.
Update: weāve used it everyday since we purchased it, just about 2 months. The noises it makes sounds like a litter of puppies, which is cute except for we donāt own any dogsā¦ However, now the compressor shakes like a mount came loose. Sounds like an off balance washing machine.

This is my third countertop ice maker and so far this is the best I have had. It is larger than my previous ones. Its capacity is 30 lbs per day instead of 6 which seems to be typical. I like that the “large” option for the ice cubes is significantly larger than the cubes from my old ice makers. The cubes last longer in drinks yet they still fit through the narrow openings of water bottles. The footprint is about the same, but the unit is taller. As far as noise, I have not measured the decibels but it seems to be the same amount of noise as my previous makers, and only noisy when it is cycling or dumping ice. The clean up is easy. I really like the straightforward display. It is easy to tell when to add water, when to empty the ice bucket, when to clean and how. My other ice makers had pairs of buttons to push to change to the cleaning cycle. If you didn’t follow the instruction booklet, it was always hard to remember how to do that. And my previous ice maker quit letting me know when to add water well before the whole unit failed.

Oh my gosh this is heavy. Packaging should have been lots of big bubble wrap Instead of paper. The top of the orginal ice maker box was damaged. Not the Amazon box. I was worried that the ice maker was damaged also. Grateful it wasn’t. It Works ! ! !. No on and off feature, have to unplug. I used 4 store bought small water bottles, my ice came out clear. I’m gonna start buying gallon jugs of water instead of using my small water bottles. I purchased it on Prime Day and received a smart price.

Overall, at first, we loved this ice maker. We have gone through 3 other brands through the years. This one lasted 6 months. I liked the openness, the angled top made for easy ice getting. But 6 months in it wont make ice anymore. It runs through all its cycles as it should, but I think there was a leak in the coolent. Just stopped freezing. And as for Crownful. AWFUL communications. It comes with a year warranty, but getting a hold of them has been non existent. At least with Igloo and another brand the got back to you quickly with any problems I had. Gonna have to get another one soon and even though I love the design of this. I WILL NEVER GET ANOTHER CROWNFUL PRODUCT EVER.
Update: Raised this back to a 4 star. After a bit of work I did finally get a hold of customer service. Once in contact they were very good on resolving the issue. Let see if this one last more than 6 months.

Took me awhile to buy another ice machine as my first one from another company didn’t last long. This one is wonderful and I believe will last awhile. Makes 2 sizes of ice and the large ones are a good size for our needs… Iced tea, soft drinks etc. Makes ice quickly and holds a large amount of water so you aren’t having to fill it often. Easy to clean… Just press a button and it cleans itself!

I purchased this item to use on my outside bar. It makes two sizes of ice I find the small to be too small but the large is perfect for my needs. It takes about 2 hours to make a full basket. The basket is much larger than other comparable models. My only complaint is the ice is a little wet and the does not stay refrigerated long enough in the unit itself. But lasts long enough when entertaining.
