We hav a fredge that has a defective freezer door and will take 6 to 8 weeks to come in. No automatic ice maker, so I got this to freeze our own. The four pack hasa plastic lid, which is usefull re spilling going from the sink to the freezer, and the tray itself is plastic on top and a flexible rubber bottom. If you do not overfill, the lid will not freeze to the trays, and simply pushing the rubber bottom of each cube will easily loosen them to dump into the cube tub in the door. Dumping four at a time is useful if you use a lot of ice for hydration during the day. And they are not flimsy and easily cracked as some of the reviews suggested. Works fine for us.

I like them. I don’t love them on the issue that the lids don’t really stay on well past the first couple of uses. Because when you take the cubes out, you have to twist the trays to break the cubes from one another and help release them. The rubber bottoms help to push them up and out but that doesn’t always work efficiently. So now the lids sort of just stay on but no longer snap on. I wish there was a way that they would snap on better after many uses. Overall though, it’s a good product. If only they were slightly bigger and the lids stayed on better.
Hope this helps with your decision to purchase. 👍

I figured these out without having to read the “User Manual” that comes with it! Clever me. I got these to freeze the pure cranberry and pomegranate juice I buy for drinks. I can never use the whole bottle of juice, so thought this would be a good way to keep it, in frozen cubes. The bottom 1/2 or so of each cube is a softer silicone, so you’re able to push out one at a time. Works great. These may be just a tad smaller cubes than other trays I’ve had. Just right for what I wanted. Fast delivery too.

Stackability with covers is great. Cube size good. If you get water level right (has to be well below top) – easy to remove cubes – if not – it is a painstaking, slow process of pushing two thumbs hard on each cube. Trying to twist to eject cubes if frozen too high has already cracked one tray. Thumb tab on covers has broken off on two. Trays need small levelling channel between cubes – as is – quite difficult to even up water level at the lower level required. Promising – but needs more work!

These ice cube trays came as advertised, the silicon bottom half of the cube pockets makes it very easy to eject cubes. Though these trays are physically smaller than the standard tray, the cubes they produce are full-size. The covers are especially helpful when inserting the refilled tray into the freezer, no spillage.
I don’t know for sure that they’ll last long-term as I just started using them but they’re built solidly and I do not anticipate a problem. I plan to buy a couple more sets, well worth the price!

Can there be a tragedy greater than the loss of the communal refrigerator’s ice maker? Of course there can, but this ranks right up there with running out of half and half and having to use regular milk in your coffee.

In an attempt to clear the icemaker of errant icicles, an ice pick was used and well, I’ll spare you the details–just know that it rendered the icemaker useless. Faced with forking over $$$ for a new icemaker, we decided to get some ice cube trays and see if they could meet our needs. As always, Amazon had the goods. I selected the DOQAUS Ice Cube Trays 4 Pack for the price and number of trays included. It was nice to have the bonus of the trays having lids! Being in a communal freezer, you want as much protection for your ice cubes as possible.

A 1-liter water bottle easily fills all the trays about 2/3 full. With the lids, I can do this at my leisure at my desk with filtered water instead of at the sink. The silicone bottoms of the trays keep them from sliding around as they are being filled. The lids make for easy transport. No worries about spilling water on the way to the freezer. The time it takes to freeze is a factor of the fridge so I won’t judge the trays for this, although they are emptied and filled first thing in the morning and just before the work day ends. The cubes come out easily with just a couple of twists and any hangers-on can be easily popped out by pressing the silicone bottom.

My only frustration with this entire process is the removal of the lids once the ice cubes have frozen. Each lid has two tabs on opposite ends of the lid which means you can pop the lid off no matter which way the tray is pointed. The corners with the tabs easily pop off, but it is often a struggle to get the other corners to pop off. Most of the time, running my thumb between the lid and the tray will help pop the lid off, but every now and then I worry that the amount of effort I have to put into it will cause me to lose control of the tray altogether.

I am going to continue to work on my lid-popping technique, because in every other way, these trays are just what the freezer needed.

First of all, I really like these trays! They come in a pack of 4, and each comes with a lid that makes stacking them and storage a breeze. However, the lids can be kind of hard to put on and take off… they stick when you try to remove them (even with no ice inside), and you have to almost bend the edges to get them to release each time. Additionally, the cubes are about half the size of what I would get from a traditional cheap plastic tray: I have to use about 2 full trays to fill up my 40 oz water bottle whilst I only had to use one previously.

Despite the lids being difficult and the cubes being small, these trays do have one big advantage: the silicone bottoms! You aren’t supposed to twist the trays too aggressively, but the silicone makes it easy to remove even the most stuck of cubes with a simple push. Even if you don’t want to empty a full tray, the ability to push the cubes up from below makes it much easier to grab individual cubes. It’s a pretty big game changer, and is the main reason why I would recommend these trays. If they could be bigger, it’d be 5 stars.

I live in an apartment with a very small refrigerator that doesn’t have an icemaker. I came to amazon in search of ice trays and found this. I don’t like ice trays that are open and exposed to whatever food is in the freezer. I LOVE these trays. Not only are they covered with a plastic lid, but it is also extremely easy to pop the cubes out. I visited my mother a few days ago and saw that she has exposed ice cube trays as well. I’ve ordered a set for her which is due to arrive today. I didn’t tell her that I’ve ordered them for her. I’m anxious to see if she’ll what they are and who sent them. lol
