First of all I just want to say that most ice packs like this start leaking after the first few uses. The material that this ice pack is made out of seems to prevent this one from becoming punctured and leaking. I was skeptical at first because of how adorable this ice pack is. For the price I was willing to see if it would work without becoming punctured, I am very glad I did. I have now used this ice pack over 20 times and it has definitely impressed me! I will actually end up buying more of them to have some back ups in case I end up needing them. I recommend this product!

Editing for update (07/31/17) I didn’t get a chance to use it for my purpose. I labored and my son was born within 20 minutes on Christmas. Although I haven’t had a chance for prolonged use myself, it’s great for my toddler, like I thought it would be. Her boo boo buddies warm up so quickly and the covers as too thick for the cold to even reach her skin. This is great and the ice stays solid for a long time. It offers the right amount of protection. I see this sticking around for a long time.
(Original review 12/18/16) I bought this to use while in labor. Last time, laboring naturally, I became overheated and wet cloths warmed up too quickly to offer relief. I figured my husband can fill this with ice water to keep me cool this time around. The quality is very good. Nice thick material. I like that it can also be used hot. This will be great for boo boos later for my toddler. I haven’t used it for my intended purpose yet (but I’m due any day so I’ll update after) but I have high hopes. The only bad thing so far is the smell. It had a very strong smell chemical/plastic straight out of the package. I soaked it in soap and let it air dry for a day. The smell lessened greatly but it’s still present. I suspect only time will make it go away if it goes away any more than I’ve managed to get it to.

I was surprised when I couldn’t find this kind of old-fashioned ice pack in any big box or drug stores. I was thrilled to find this one online. I have had no problems with leaking – it works great. And I got the pink with white polka dots and love that it makes me smile – – and I can find it easily!

As someone who frequently needs cold packs for various injuries and health issues, this is the best product I’ve ever purchased. It’s cute, durable, and collapses for easy storage. On top of that, the product is more gentle than traditional ice packs and that’s one of my favorite things about it. I don’t know about anyone else but when I’m in pain and something is tender, a solid/hard ice pack does more harm than good. I have no need for multiples of this item but should something ever happen to the current one, I know where to get a replacement.

Exactly what you would expect. I’ve only had it about a week but I’ve put ice and hot water in there and it performed well. It did sweat just a little bit with the ice but it’s very humid where I live anyways and it was very minimal. Didn’t cause any problems at all. Also didn’t smell when I got it or when I put ice in it, however I did put boiling water in there and it held up, but when I did that it did release a slight plastic smell. If you have a very sensitive nose it could be a problem but for me it’s not that bad of a smell and is hardly noticeable. It keeps the water hot enough but holds the heat about as well as a coffee mug. So overall it’s very good for the money and was just what I was expecting.
