I’ll admit it was not the most necessary purchase. I’ve been making ice with ice cube trays for years and survived so I don’t really need this ice maker. But now that I have it, I don’t think I could like without it. The ice is amazing, perfect size for a cocktail or a coffee. The maker itself is easy to use, unbox it, clean it and start making ice. Simple. It’s not that noisy, but I also don’t let it make ice while everyone is sleeping in the house. In my opinion the noise level is appropriate for the equipment, it kicks on, makes ice and then kicks off once the tray is full or I turn on the timer. Again, simple. If you’re in the market for an ice maker, I definitely recommend this one.

I’m very impressed! Chose this model after so many poor reviews on other big brand names. I suspect this machine will have paid for itself in the money I’m saving from buying bags of ice at Sonic. It’s a very good quality of ice and it is actually more quiet than my dishwasher. Highly recommend!

We had fallen in love with my son’s Opal ice maker but just couldn’t take the price. We bought this one on Prime Day and kept our fingers crossed that it would perform as well.
It’s so much better! This ice maker has a larger water reservoir, the ice basket is contained inside the machine and fully insulated, it freezes faster and it produces/stores more ice.
With the Opal, water would run out on the countertop every time the ice basket was tilted forward to scoop out ice, and water would cling to the bottom of the basket so when you’d remove it to add water, the water would get all over the floor or countertop. My son actually kept a towel on the floor in front of the ice maker just to contain the inevitable flow.
This is not an issue at all with the Kismile. The basket is designed with adequate runoff holes in the bottom, so if ice isn’t used quickly enough (and melts back into the water reservoir) the water doesn’t cling to the bottom of the basket. And since the basket is on top, you can just lift it up (and keep it positioned over the opening) while adding water, so you don’t get water running down the cabinet face, or all over the floor. (Really, the mess of the Opal is a huge part what kept me from buying a pellet ice machine for so long…)
I’m so glad I took the chance on this one! We have had it for almost two months without issue. All the negatives are gone and I’m left with perfect pellet ice.

The machine worked great, not too noisy, great ice production… for 3 days. Then it quit working. The inner ice chamber doesn’t cool. The fan doesn’t exhaust warm air like it was… nothing. The item cannot be returned? I have never had an Amazon item that was not eligible for a return. Live and learn.

I put off buying an ice machine because they are so expensive. I should have bought this sooner! My family loves it. This does make nugget ice. It can make a lot of ice each day. The ice is not as soft and chewy as I had hoped, but I do love the machine. The water reservoir is just below the ice bucket. As unused ice melts, it gets used again to make new ice. I love this feature. You do have to lift the ice basket to add more water. This could have been designed better, but that is a very small inconvenience. I walk by all day and just grab some ice to eat. I have owned the machine about a month and use it heavily. This machine is doing great.

I have been using this all day everyday. So much so that I get I needed to ask my dentist if it was okay! He said as long as it’s the pellet ice I am good! Plus I am consuming way more water than ever! That a good thing! I bought this machine with $100.00 coupon. Not sure if that happens often but it is so worth it!

I have had counter top ice makers for years and have liked them. However, when a you tuber I follow recommended this one I couldn’t resist. It’s quieter than the cube maker, and makes a lot of ice. Like all other counter top ice makers, if you want to store the ice you have to put it in your freezer and then break it up. I put the nuggets in a plastic bag, and after a few minutes in the freezer, I use a meat pounder to break it up and then pour it out into a tray in my freezer. The only downside is that like all the other icemakers I’ve owned, the ice piles up on one side and so stops making ice because it senses the basket is full, when it is not. I suppose there’s no solution to that, except to constantly check on it and even out the ice. One of the best features of this ice maker is the timer function. You can put the water in, and set the timer to start hours later. I wasn’t sure I would find it useful, but I do. Late at night when I realize I’m low on ice, I can set the timer to start the next day while I’m at work, and have ice ready to go when I get home without having the machine run all day. The machine also has a clean function, but I don’t exactly know how it’s cleaning anything with plain water. I highly recommend this ice maker.
