Bought it because it’s BPA free and a good product name overall.
Hard to remove top once water is frozen. Also hard remove ice cubes.

I wish I’d found these years ago. They work great, the slide on lid prevents spills. Overfilling can be an issue, causing the lids to stick initially, but that’s an operator error, not the fault of the trays. I simply run a little warm water over the lid first, problem solved. I also like the shape and size of the cubes. Perfect fit for my water bottle.

I love the XOX brand! These trays are easy to use and I love how easily the ice comes out of them. I fill each cube a little less than full. When they are ready to use, I twist the tray back and forth just once, and then I put my finger on one side of the ice and it easily comes out. Of course, if you’re getting ice for others, then you can empty the entire tray. It’s a fun item and I’m very happy with it. Enjoy!

I know it’s OXO but I was still prepared to be ok with my selection. But WOW! I am so very impressed! The cubes really do just slide with the push of a finger. Just fill slightly below the the top of the sections for expansion of course. When frozen, a gentle twist left and right and out they slide. I’ll take these over silicone trays. I highly recommend!

I don’t understand why people have issues getting the lid off. I fill them just like my old ice trays with HOT WATER and then place the lid and freeze. When I need the ice and the lid does not want to slide off, then just twist with the lid on and it will release, and you can open and have ice pronto. I fill mine to the top every time. It’s just a habit after all these years. Sturdy trays and not flimsy like from the dollar store.

They are the hardest to remove due to the hard brittle plastic, and you cannot use like normal ice trays! Do NOT twist or bend it will snap! Instead let it sit at room temp for a minute or two and push on one side of each cube. They will “pop” out. Good for the price.

I have the older version for year and decided to get the updated version as well. This one feels a little stiffer and the cover doesn’t lock into place as good as the older version. However, the ice comes out smooth on the curve side – if that is even important to anyone. Still would recommend buying this over uncovered ice cube trays.

Like these trays. They are sturdy and easier to navigate into our bottom freezer because if the covers. Not leak proof, but definitely better than open trays. The covers slide off, but don’t overfill and it won’t be difficult.

…but if you are careful moving from the sink to the freezer, there won’t be any mess. I am enjoying having coffee ice cubes for my iced coffee, lemon and water ice cubes for my iced tea, and milk ice cubes to keep milk good and cold when it’s hot and I’m not inclined to chug it. This is the best way to store tomato paste when you don’t use the whole can — just freeze into cubes, then transfer the cubes to zipper freezer bag. It’s easy to drop a few in a stew, and is actually more convenient than opening a can.

We had a first generation version of these ice cube trays and it was exactly what I wanted. I needed to be able to stack in a small space, and traditional uncovered trays wouldn’t work. Those got old, started to break and we needed a replacement.
These ones are significantly sturdier, have a better base, and the cubes come out nicely.

I used silicone ice cube trays before and I will never get them again as the silicone imparts an awful taste into the ice. These OXO ice cube trays are a bit pricey but worth the money. The cover is adequate enough to help prevent spilling and the ice cubes come out easily. As water expands while becoming ice, I recommend not filling the trays all the way to the top. Also, a slight twist of the tray will loosen the ice cubes from the tray for easy removal. The lids on the trays make it easier to find a place in the freezer without worrying as much about spilling the water. These are the best ice cube trays I’v ever used!

I have tried to return the “single tray/lid” product which was initially shipped to me, but without success. They quickly offered to exchange this wrong item for the intended 2product combo-pack… however, the replacement sent was *also* only one tray/lid! …Apparently, it seems Amazon is incapable of properly fulfilling the product as described & depicted (2trays & 2lids).
I’m still hesitating to actually use the trays —until this mix-up is resolved! Amazon keeps asking me to return 1st “single” unit, without promise or method of replacing the two singles with the combo-pack desires.
[I’d update the review if/when I’ve finally used the product!! Sadly, 1-star rating is required minimum…]

I purchased these specifically to make narrow ice cubes that would fit into a narrow opening water bottle. Ice comes out of tray easily. A little larger than most trays due to the lid feature. And cheaper than the silicon trays that make long sticks of ice.
